Heritage Architecture were commissioned by Horsell Common Preservation Society (HCPS) to provide architectural design services for their new headquarters building on Horsell Common near Woking.
Working with the client as well as Woking Borough Council, The Principal Contractor (Stonehouse Contracting), Structural Engineers, Quantity Surveyors and other professionals, we have assisted with Planning matters, Building Regulations approval and construction details.
The new headquarters for Horsell Common Preservation Society and Wetland Visitor Centre has now been officially opened as of 9th January 2016.
The building, formerly a mushroom packaging centre for the original owners of the site, has been completely refurbished and now features HCPS’s offices, the Waters Edge Cafe and other community based enterprises. A major part of the regeneration of the 14 acre site has been the removal of some 150,000 sq ft of derelict buildings to enable the creation of a wetland area complete with viewing platforms/areas for watching birds and other wildlife.
The site is open to the general public 7 days a week for people of all ages to visit and enjoy. Click on the above links for more information.
